New to Faith Community?

Welcome to Faith Community! You probably have some questions. Below are some of the most common ones we receive. If you have additional questions or would like information that is not found on our website, please feel free to call the church office at 405.273.3167 or email us, and our staff will be happy to connect with you.

Where is Faith Community located?
43005 MacArthur, Shawnee, Oklahoma 74804

What time are services?
Sunday: Morning worship begins at 10:30; Faith Students meet at 6:00pm
Community Groups meet at homes and various locations throughout the week, and Faith Students: LIVE takes place on our campus at 6:30 on Wednesday evenings.

How do most people dress when attending service?
We’re definitely a “come as you are” church. Whether you choose to dress in your “Sunday best” or in casual clothing, we welcome all guests! You’ll see many in jeans, and others more dressed up.

Are children welcome in worship services?
Children are always welcome in services! But we also have five kid friendly environments available through Faith Kids. While you’re in church, kids age 2 through 5th grade can enjoy fun, age appropriate learning activities just for them. Nursery is available for babies and toddlers under age 2.

Is there anything offered for students?
Middle school and high school students have a great time at Faith Students Gathering on Sunday evenings at 6:00 and Faith Students: LIVE on Wednesdays at 6:30. Plus, there are tons of awesome activities through the year!

What can I expect as a guest?
You’ll be greeted at the door by our Welcome Team. They’ll give you the weekly handout where you’ll find information on current activities and a place to take notes from the teaching. When you enter the auditorium you’ll find a Connection Card on each seat. Please fill one out! We won’t show up at your house or bombard you with calls/texts/emails. We just want to get to know you better and help meet your needs.
If you have any questions or need help at any time during your visit, look for the Welcome Center or anyone wearing a lanyard and name badge. They can help with anything you may need!
What we believe:

  • The Lordship of Jesus. There is one Lord, who is God’s Son Jesus Christ, over the church. Christ is the church’s ultimate authority on all matters (Acts 2:36).
  • Making Disciples. Each of us is called to fulfill Matthew 28:18–20, making fully devoted followers of Christ—disciples—who will then teach others to follow Christ.
  • Loving God and Neighbor. We are called to fulfill Matthew 22:37–39, not only loving God with our entire being, but also loving all that he loves.
  • The Work of the Holy Spirit. God’s Spirit equips believers with unique gifts that enable us to carry out the mission of Christ in the world. At the same time, the Spirit produces love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control in every believer (Galatians 5:22–23), which demonstrate the Spirit’s presence within us.
  • Stewardship. Since God is the source of life, all of life is to be used for the honor, glory, and service of God (Psalm 24:1).
  • Salvation makes us members of God’s church. We believe that the church is composed of every person who has accepted Jesus Christ as Savior. We enter into the life of the church, not by joining a denomination or a human organization, but by committing our lives to Christ (John 3:1–7).
  • Christians are called to be one. We believe that God calls all followers of Christ to live in unity and peace, regardless of who they are or the church they attend (Gal 3:28). While we may not agree on everything, we can rally around our subject, Jesus.
  • We must be holy. We believe that followers of Christ have been called to live a life of love, purity, and godliness. We are called to live like Christ, taking on a new nature (2 Cor 5:17).
